What to Expect at a 10:00am service

Being a guest at a church for the first time can feel intimidating, so we came up with a few things we’d want to know if we were first-time guests all over again.

On a typical Sunday morning, people gather in our foyer and fellowship hall to enjoy conversation and a cup of coffee or tea. At the start of the service, we sing a few songs and hear about what’s going on in the community. Then Pastor Ben, or another pastor, will share a message from the Bible that helps us grow deeper in our walk with God in a way that makes sense with our daily lives. Following the message, we have a time to give (for those who call UHC their church home), share communion (open to all followers of Jesus) and sing a few more songs before closing with a blessing and a prayer to step into a new week. We tend to end at 11:30 am and then spend time meeting with one another in the lobby and fellowship hall.

  • What to Wear: “Come as you are” is our motto. Some feel comfortable in jeans and a tee while others prefer something more dressy. Your choice. We’re pretty informal.
  • Welcome: If you’re a guest and have questions about where to find things or about our church, look for one of our hosts (someone with a name tag) and they’ll be glad to point you in the right direction.
  • Union Hill Kids: We provide a safe and fun environment for children ranging from toddlers through 5th grade during our church services. If you have an infant, you are more than welcome to join us in the service! A host can walk you through the check-in process when you arrive. If you prefer for comfort/privacy’s sake, we have an infant room where you can watch and listen to the service as well.
  • Giving: Those who call UHC their church home regularly support the ministries and mission of the church. If you are a guest, please feel no obligation to give.
