“Church” in August
In August, we encourage you to find unique and personal expressions of “church”. You can watch services you may have missed on our Vimeo page by clicking HERE. You can also download or create a playlist with the worship music videos we have in our UHC Worship showcase. Creating your own playlist requires a Vimeo account, and Tommy would be happy to help if you have any questions (email [email protected]). We also encourage you to read a chapter from the gospel of John and reflect or share with others what it would look like to become more like Jesus. Pray together. Share communion. Consider others who may be in need and find ways to encourage and bless!
We will still be providing our Sunday morning Virtual Foyer via Zoom, but we will be moving it to 10:30 a.m. for the month of August. It’s a great place to connect, but we also hope you’ll come prepared to share a testimony of God’s work in your life or in your family, and/or a prayer request so that we can pray for one another. The Zoom invitation will be sent each week via our Newsletter.
Friday Food Trucks – Fridays in August from 4:00-7:00 pm
During the month of August, we are partnering with the Bellevue Nourishing Network and the Mobile Meal Alliance to provide meals for the hungry by hosting a food truck every Friday evening from 4-7 pm. We have committed to donating 100 meals each week, but if you would like to help us give above and beyond feel free to click HERE to navigate to our online giving platform where you can select “Benevolent-Food Truck Friday”. $10 provides a delicious meal for someone in need. You can find the menu and ordering details for each week HERE.
We also invite you to come and purchase a meal, though due to current government restrictions we can only offer two “dining options”: You are welcome to stop by and get the meals to takeaway to your homes/cars, or “picnic” on our site following social distance guidelines. For those who would like to picnic, we ask that you bring lawn chairs/picnic blankets/anything else you might need for your household to enjoy a picnic dinner as we will not be setting tables. Additionally, face masks will be required while on-site, only to be removed while eating with your household. Our building will be closed with no access to restrooms.
This may not be the kind of “church” gathering that we’re longing for, but we can still come together for some socially distanced fellowship. We can eat “together” in the same place. We can give generously and share with those in need. If we do all these with joy and thanksgiving, we are the church! If you would like to serve on one or more Fridays, or if you have any questions, please contact Stephanie Bauer with the Mercy Team or Geoff Smith.
Re-Assembly Plan for UHC
Pastor Ben and the Elders have put together a plan for re-entry into a new normal rhythm as a church family in terms of in-person gatherings. We sent this out in an email to everyone on our mailing list, but if you did not get a chance to see the email or would like a refresher you can view it HERE. For any questions about the different phases and how we are responding to this return, don’t hesitate to reach out to us by sending an email to [email protected]
Sunday Service Archives
We are recording our weekend services and hosting the content online to be viewed/listened to at any time. If you would like to watch the services in their entirety, we have the videos located on our UHC Vimeo page HERE. If you would like to listen to the sermon audio, we have every sermon archived on our website HERE.
Serve with Us!
Part of growing in Jesus is bearing fruit and sharing with on anther. There are many ways to serve and bless others. Many of our ministries need help and would love to have you join their team. Contact the office at [email protected] for information on how you can get involved.
Wednesdays, Noon – 1:00 p.m.
As part of our 2020 vision we want to make prayer first, last, and center to all else we do. We hope that whenever and however we gather, prayer will be first, last, and central. As an expression of this vision please join the elders in prayer at the center of the week in the center of the day. Wednesdays at noon please pray wherever you are. You can pray alone but we encourage you to find others to pray with. If you are able, join us via Zoom to pray together online. Pray as the Spirit leads. Pray through the Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6: 9-13), on behalf of our church and our city, and all the fields where God has sent and “planted” us (where we live, work, learn, and play). Pray to put on the armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-20) for the spiritual battle we engage in every day. Pray that each one of God’s servant-warriors would “stand firm”. If you would like the information to join the Zoom meeting, send an email to [email protected]
The Mercy Ministry is currently looking for all skills and talents to help those within the body. Please fill out a form if you would like to share your abilities. No commitment required. Questions? Contact Stephanie Bauer.
