What We Believe

What We Believe

We believe that God loves and pursues all people. He desires to dwell with each one of us. Jesus came to embody this reality and proclaim it with his life and words. John 3:16. John 10:10; Revelation 21:3

We believe all people are created in the Image of God and therefore have immense value and significant purpose. Genesis 1:26-27; Psalm 139:13-14; Ephesians 2:10

We believe that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and that He offers all people life and life to the full. This is everlasting life, and God desires us to enjoy it not only after we die, but today! John 10:10, 14:6; Romans 5:1-2

We believe that abundant life now and forever is possible because Jesus willingly came, lived, was crucified, and rose again on our behalf. This is amazing grace, and we receive it by faith alone. John 3:16-17; Romans 5:8; 2 Corinthians 5:17-21; Ephesians 2:4-9

We believe the Holy Spirit is God with us now. His presence and power will inspire us, change us, and form us all into greater likeness of God, known and seen in Jesus. John 16:7-14; Romans 8:9-11

We believe God’s kingdom is love, joy, peace, grace, mercy, freedom, justice, healing, diversity, unity, renewal, beauty, hope(and more), for all peoples everywhere! We long for this kingdom to come. One day it will, but we are invited to pray for it and pursue it now. Matthew 6:9-10; Luke 4:16-21; 1 Peter 2:9; Revelation 7:9-10; 21:1-5, 22:1-5

We believe the sacred scriptures (the books of the Hebrew and Greek testaments) tell the story of God’s love, pursuit, rescue and redemption of all people and all things, so we read, study, teach, and discuss the scriptures with wonder and humility, finding our story within this story. Psalm 1:1-3; Psalm 119:105; John 5:39-40; Romans 15:4; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Timothy 3:16-17
